KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS

 

.          Led the turnaround of large alumina producer and aluminum processor with over 2,000 employees.  Worked with creditors to restructure outstanding debt and set up stringent cash-flow management procedures to service the debt and provide for upgrading to the plant.  Managed a program to develop a cost accounting program and led the redesign of the procurement and accounts payable departments.  Provided strategic management and political negotiating advice to senior-level management.  By the end of the project, the plant had its first year of profit and its highest production levels in its history.

.          Managed and/or led 30-45 simultaneous consulting projects for small- and medium-sized firms providing, on average, 7% revenue gains and 11% profit gains among the companies served.

.          Managed a tourism asset privatization program, including valuation of properties and buildings, working with owners and government on renovation and revitalization programs for the buildings, properties, and adjoining areas, resulting in the sale of three hotels for a price within 5% of our valuations; planned and organized a large investors’ conference with over 100 international attendees.

.          Provided training in leadership, financial analysis, financial accounting, business plan development and analysis, competitiveness to over 1,000 local participants in Montenegro including consultants, bank staff, auditors, business managers and owners, and privatization fund advisors.

.          Managed a feasibility program of state-owned assets to determine valuations of land, buildings and other assets, recommending closure and alternate uses, sales and marketing initiatives, or developing business plans to access government funding for revitalization of assets.

.          Assisted the development of local affiliates in Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia

.          Managed cost-cutting measures for a small business in Northern Virginia that resulted in employment in developing countries while cutting costs dramatically for the US-based business.  Utilized the new work centers to develop business opportunities in target countries.
